Description

The 90 gunner HMS Association sinks during a gale in the Scilly Isles disaster, 1707. She was lost, along with other three ships, in the worst naval disaster in the British Navy that can be attributed to poor navigation due to inaccurate instruments. The Association ran aground and sank under three minutes. Among the victims of the day was admiral of the fleet Sir Cloudesley Shovel.
